Daniel joined Synapse as a Hardware Engineer in 2014, bringing 10 years of experience to the San Francisco office. Since then, he has taken on a wide variety of consumer products including connected home IoT, wearables, and high performance audio, with a consistent emphasis on low power and small size. He has contributed from the concept stage through builds on site in Asia, reliability testing, and detailed design validation.
Before Synapse, Daniel worked in hardware design and R&D at DiCon Fiberoptics & Lighting, a Bay Area industry leader in telecom and commercial/consumer LED lighting equipment. Prior to that, he learned the ropes of electronics consulting at Bay Computer Associates, a contract design firm specializing in medical, industrial, and consumer products in Providence, RI.
Daniel holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Brown University. In his spare time, he enjoys collecting frequent flyer miles, playing tennis, and practicing Swiss-German with his son.
