James received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, with a specialization in microcomputers. He was the IEEE Treasurer, and was on the first team of Electrical Engineers at UW to participate in the Formula SAE car competition (http://students.sae.org/competitions/formulaseries), where he designed a 68HC11-based fuel injection system for the car.
James has 15 years of industry experience in embedded systems firmware, having worked on wrist-based activity monitors, mp3 players, digital set-top boxes, point-of-sale kiosks, and cable modems. In his spare time, James enjoys billiards, hiking through the Cascade Mountains, and copious amounts of crossword puzzles.
