Kate leads the electrical engineering, RF, and PCB layout teams at Synapse. She has been with Synapse since 2006, and has become the resident guru for electrical engineering of fitness electronic products. She specializes in miniaturized low-power electronic design, including flexible and high density PCB design, low power microcontrollers and radios, batteries, and display technology. She has extensive experience in design for manufacturing, contract manufacturer ramp up, and production test development. One of her favorite parts of working at Synapse is the ability to work closely with other engineering disciplines to create innovative products.
Kate received her BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Olin College, where she was in the first graduating class. Attending a brand new school was in many ways like working for a startup company and it sparked Kate’s interest in fast paced product development and led her to Synapse.
