Mike comes from the almond capitol of the world, Modesto, CA. While living in California, Mike attended UC Davis, where he received his BS in Electrical Engineering. Mike began his career by enjoying six years of free travel and notorious adventures while operating the most complex nuclear facility in the world aboard the USS Enterprise, followed by three years developing high reliability embedded systems, AC power systems, and control systems.
Since then he has developed expertise ranging from digital ASIC/FPGA, mixed signal ASIC and DSP design to MEMS and laser control systems. He has developed countless embedded processor boards for the industrial and commercial markets. Throughout his career, Mike has co-authored four patents.
Mike joined Synapse in 2011, and has subsequently worked on a variety of fitness electronics products and mass movement monitors. He continues to apply his expertise in wireless communications, ASIC/FPGA design, low power electronics, and is now venturing into antenna design, and control system stability analysis.
In his spare time, Mike indulges his intellectual side with RF design and biotech studies, as well as volunteers for a ROV (remotely operated vehicle) class at Bainbridge High. He is also a passionate enthusiast of cars, and enjoys rowing.
